We are searching for a Refrigeration Engineer to lead a team. The employer is a locally owned and operated family business, with over 50 years of success as the leading refrigeration and air-conditioning agents within the Gisborne and wider region. They offer a wide range of services in the sector and have long-standing relationships with a number of the district’s top businesses & industries. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Refrigeration Engineer to work in an incredible part of New Zealand and enjoy the sun, outdoors, and lifestyle that’s on offer in Tairāwhiti Gisborne. The Job:

  • Day to day management of Engineers, Technicians, and Apprentices
  • Service and installation of commercial refrigeration equipment including:
    • Walk-in chillers, freezers, and coolstore refrigeration
    • Commercial HVAC
  • Lead a team, and plan work – service, maintenance, and some new build projects
  • Maintaining relationships – customers are varied including hospitals, schools, manufacturing facilities and other sectors – every job is different. You’ll be dealing with people from all walks of life
Experience and qualifications required

Qualified Refrigeration Engineer
Highly experienced with commercial refrigeration
Electrical Service Technician – highly preferred
Experienced Leader, or high leadership potential – we’re open to hearing from someone who is looking to take a step up
Full clean driving license
Excellent communication skills and a team player
Down to earth and good with clients – Gisborne is a small city, so maintaining relationships with long term customers is an essential part of the role
